From our Newsletter 1st December 2017

Dear Parents and School Community,

Well, what a fortnight full of incredible activity - Raffle, Disco, P&C meetings, Thankyou Morning Tea and everything else actively completed by the P&C teams and the school. A big THANKYOU goes out all the hardworking volunteers and especially to the core group of dedicated individuals that come back again and again to contribute their time to the P&C activities and to the greater school community. On behalf of the school community, thank you for your dedication and efforts. The P&C is an amazing organisation that contributes so much to our community. At the last meeting, we agreed on the gifting of $20,000 raised by the P&C for critical computer equipment for students. These funds were raised by organising the discos, the second hand uniform shop, canteen, school banking and a myriad of other tasks. We have two sub-committee’s (Canteen and Fundraising) which have dedicated individuals contributing time and energy. There is so much more we could do with more people to help us.

However, I am sad to say that due to the inexorable aging of our amazing children, next year, a core group of seven of our P&C executive and committee members will not be returning. These people will be sorely missed in our group, leaving a huge gap in the P&C’s talent pool but this also represents an incredible opportunity. It is an opportunity for everyone else in our community to step up, to put in a little bit of dedicated time, to secure an opportunity to directly relate to the school leadership in a powerful and collaborative way next year in the school. In a very personal way, to make the P&C more meaningful to you and your children.

As such I am sending out a call for everyone in our community, to please get in contact with me. If you want to join the P&C, or not join but to volunteer a small amount of time to help, have skills or a cultural view that you feel the P&C can benefit from or have any desire to engage with the community that provides for your children every single day, we can tailor a volunteer package that suits you as well as the P&C! I hope our new Engagement sub-committee will be working with all our community to work together next year.

I can be contacted on 0439489387 or by email on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and would be overjoyed to hear from people that want to contribute or make suggestions.

Lastly, it has also been a fortnight of sadness with the tragic passing of Bruce Bingham, a greatly loved teacher at the school. His passing has touched the hearts of everyone at the school and he will be missed by the whole community. Although I did not have the fortune of knowing Bruce, many people have personally expressed their sadness due to his passing to me and, on behalf of the P&C community, I express my condolences to his family at this time.

Yours Sincerely,

Mike Lennane
President, CVPS and ESC P&C
